Gil Savitzky was born and raised in New York City and now resides in Florida with his wife, Barbara.

Gil discovered his passion for stone carving 8 years ago when he took a stone carving seminar in Tannersville, New York, and continued to grow under the tutelage of Willie Reed, at the Boca Art Museum in Florida. Gil’s work and style is inspired by the world renowned sculptor Pablo Atchugary, of Uruguay.

Gil has participated in several local shows in Florida, including the Boca Art School. He has also had his work exhibited at the museum in the NYS Masonic Building in Manhattan.

Gil carves in marble, blue stone, alabaster and other stones, seeking to let the stone tell its story in his abstract works.
